Tip 1: A Fabulous Design Brief

Obviously it would be easier if you were a mind reader, but you chose to be a designer instead. Whoops. So how do you overcome that crucial mind reading lack? I like to use the trusted brief method. You can tailor your briefs to reflect your company and what you want to know, but you get the jist.
Must know questions?
1. Corporate profile
2. Market position
3. Current situation
4. Marketing/advertising/communications background
5. Target message
6. Target audience
7. Budget
8. Deadline
9. Objective

From there, get creative and ask questions that reflect you and what you need to know to achieve the best end result. Such as? Preferences, likes/dislikes, past fails, anything goes really. The more you know the more accurately get out what they leave in (their head that is)
